Dear New Guest,

Everyday I speak with customers who are troubled by jealous and negative people. … It could be a neighbor, coworker, fellow church member... Or maybe even in your own family...  But we all seem to have at least one of these people in our life..... The kind of person who is not happy in his/her own life. But instead of working at bettering themselves, they misuse their God given Life Energy to cut you down!


Why do they do this?

Because deep down, they are really unhappy with themselves.... And they feel weak, alone and not connected with their Higher Power....

I think there are two reasons why holding others down gives them a twisted, temporary pleasure.  #1. Since they are unhappy, they want others to be unhappy. If you start doing better than them, that will make them feel even worse about themselves. So instead of encouraging you, they criticize anything you are working on, and everything you are proud of.  #2. They can't control their own life, so to give themselves some sense of power, they try to control others, including you! ....

But they'll never have a happy life by holding others down! Because holding others down doesn't help them make progress in their own life. It doesn't help them grow. It doesn't help others to grow. It doesn't spread positive energy..... So like a drug addict, they get up everyday and do it again. Just to get a very temporary, meaningless “lift”.

How do you react to jealous people?

People mostly tell me they feel very uncomfortable around jealous people. Sometimes they get stomach problems, nervousness and anxiety. They also report feeling drained or down after interacting with them. They say things like “ Every time I see my sister-in-law I can feel her wishing bad on me.” Or  “ My neighbor is always leaving strange things in my yard to upset me.” Or “ When I drive home after visiting my brother, all my positive energy seems like drained from me.  I always feel bad, angry and upset about something he said.”

How should you react to jealous people?

Here's how I see happy people handling jealousy.

First, I see them reducing contact with Jealous people as much as absolutely possible.  One man said “I decided I will only talk to my brother on major holidays. And even then, it's just to keep my mother from bugging me about my relationship with him.”

Secondly, happy people attract other happy people to help fill their needs. A woman told me  “I don't drive. So my sister-in-law would give me rides. I became used to having her help me. But there was always a price to pay, because she would cut me down. And I would feel bad. One day I had enough. To tell you the truth, being with her felt like I was drinking poison! And even though I needed her, I didn't want to be around her anymore…..  So I decided I would look for a supportive, new friend to give me rides. Then I met a lady at church who offered to take me to my doctor and what not. In return, we go to lunch together and I pay. We have a lot of laughs and its fun for both of us…”

Third, happy people are careful what they say around unsupportive people. One lady reports “I know my sister always wanted kids, but can't have them for medical reasons. At first, when I had my babies, she would make hurtful jokes about them. So I decided on those rare times when I do see her, I wouldn't say anything about my children. I understand she's frustrated and unhappy about not having her own children. And I don't want to “tease” her by sharing what I'm proud of … I love my kids. But I don't need her praise and adoration. So its best I never talk to her about my kids.”

Fourth, happy people connect with their Higher Power. As I have mentioned in the past, taking a quiet time and talking with God is one of the best ways for you to grow spiritually. Ask God for advice and guidance. (Not for help.) And then listen to your “Little Voice” inside you. You will get direction. You will ultimately find your Life's purpose. And in doing so, you will become a stronger and stronger individual who jealous people can't really hurt. Because you'll be living in harmony with your God, while jealous people are off on their own, alone and making decisions that do not improve their lives....

(Do you think the Pope is upset about his jealous neighbor? No. Because he is so spiritually connected and living his purpose, he doesn't even give it a thought! Except maybe to pray for them.)

Lastly, and this is IMPORTANT...  Love the jealous person.... Keep your distance, but whenever you think of them, send them love. I call it “LOVING FROM AFAR.” Think how sad and lonely they must be… And in your mind, always send them love. You will feel good and positive. You won't fill yourself up with anger. (Like they do.)  You won't be caught in their negative energy… You will be doing what God wants you to do. Send them love …    Love them from afar! …

          I just want to thank you for all your assistance. I was suffering from nerves because my husband had a heart attack and his relatives are very bad.
